Ten years ago today, after an eighteen-year engagement, a year of planning, and a pretty awesome party the night before, Charles and I got married. It was a small wedding at an Italian restaurant, with the teensy ceremony sandwiched in between the appetizers and the main course.
I’ll do some pondering later about what it means to reach and celebrate a milestone anniversary of a marriage that we waited so long for… which is no longer there.
But today I can remember what a wonderful week it was, and how well it went off, and what a great time everyone had, and, as my late great friend Vikki said, ‘there wasn’t a person in that room who wasn’t totally happy to be there’.
I blogged about it at the time, of course: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
I don’t think I did a great job of curating wedding photos, but let’s see what we can find: oh yes
Tomorrow, I’m hosting an anniversary early dinner with close friends. And I can spend the weekend processing.
More soon.
