A good haunting

Me, in my recliner this morning, drinking coffee.

“Echo, play Renaissance.”
(I call the machine “Echo” instead of “Alexa” because I work with a lady named Alexa and when we mention her in meetings, the machine wakes up.)

The machine plays early music for about 15 minutes. Then decides to start playing the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. WUT.

“Echo, next“

Something quiet starts, sounds like it might be early music, beautiful. And then I realize that it’s playing “Variations on a Theme of Thomas Tallis“ by Ralph Vaughan Williams, not at all Renaissance, but one of my favorite pieces. In fact, the last time I heard it was when I listened to it, sitting right here in this recliner, the night Charles passed away.

I look upward. “Thank you, dear, good morning to you too!“

I have real blogging to do, I just haven’t had a chance to sit down and do it.
